This tutorial is for adding or editing new products or categories to your online shop (or online catalogue)

Log in using the ‘Administrator’ button in the website and your user name and password you were given (contact us if you have not received that or mislaid it)

To edit or add new products or categories,
Go to ‘Compontents’ / VirtueMart
Click on ‘Products’ then ‘List Products’ ( or click on ‘Categories’ then ‘List Categories’)
Click on any product/category's name to edit it.

To create a new item: (product or category)
When you are logged into ‘administrator’, go to ‘Components/VirtueMart’
Click on ‘Product List’ (if you are going to create a new ‘Product’) or ‘Category Tree’ (if you are going to create a new ‘Category’)
Click the ‘New’ button (top right)
Type in a unique code in the ‘SKU’ field (simply make up a code of your own)
Type in the name of the product
Leave the ‘URL’ Field empty
Add it to a ‘Category’ by clicking on one of the ‘Categories’ available ( you may need to create a new category of your own before adding any new products)
If you are using 'Prices', type in the product price (typing the price into the ‘Net’ field will see an extra 10% gst added on top – typing the price into the ‘Gross’ field will auto add the gst for you)
Add any short description if you want it there and also a discounted price if you want to discount the product.
Type in a full description if you want to have one.
Go through the other tabs and fill out whatever you deem necessary.
The ‘Product Images’ tab is where you add an image of the product. It will auto create a ‘Thumbnail’ image for you. Just be sure that the image you are uploading is no bigger than approx 600 X 600px.
Once you have done that, click the ‘Save’ button top right.
